Hearing Silence

Hearing Silence sounds a bit like a paradox, never the less, it is exactly what I am inviting you to listen into. 

Even to say ‘listen into’ sounds like some sort of ‘doing’ when actually it is allowing yourself to rest with ‘hearing’.  This hearing that is already happening even though you do nothing to hear it. 

You can, however, allow awareness to rest with hearing.
Relax you body open, breathe and notice what is being heard.  Whether apparently ‘outside’ sounds or ‘inside’ sounds, the hearing happens in the same place – the place of ‘Here’.  For some of you this is only a reminder of how available it is to rest with Silence.

If you are ‘Being With’ the hearing that is already happening, you are being totally present.  The more you are present with any aspect of ‘what is’ (in this case the hearing that is happening) the deeper and more settled presence is.
Sort of like thickening Awareness, deepening Awareness.

Another side effect of allowing awareness to rest with hearing happening, is that one might notice that beyond that which shows up as ‘sounds’, there is a constant hum or whine, a high pitched sound usually.  There can also be some chiming sounds sort of rolling off or at the edges of this sound.  It is the main sort of background, or back drop, sound that one might notice and is not from inside or outside yet includes both.  It is Silence itself. 

It might seem a bit odd to call Silence a sound, to say that it is so, yet it is.  It is a constant sound, never ending, never beginning.

Being with Silence, hearing this (you might notice) ends up encompassing much more than just your ears or the area where hearing seems to happen.  You are also, simultaneously Being directly with yourSelf…which supports more harmony in every direction.

Allow yourSelf to Be With this aspect of presence – hearing Silence and see what happens….you are invited!

If everyone on this list spends some moments with Silence, that thickens the Silence so that it is more readily heard by all.
